Find out more about Jarryd, his shows, and his impact in the veteran community below.

About Jarryd Goundrey

A former infantryman of seven years and the comic in every platoon he was in, Jarryd spent most of his career from 2006–2012 with the 2nd Battalion, RAR in Townsville.

After leaving the military, he found a new way to serve: through humour that resonates deeply with veterans and civilians alike. Jarryd tells his stories not just to entertain, but to also bring greater awareness to the challenges facing the veteran community.

Today, Jarryd has reached millions through his comedy, sold out major festival runs, emceed at the 2025 Veteran Games, and become a prominent voice for veterans going through life after service.

Giving Back through Comedy

Jarryd is someone who turned his lived experience into humour — and also advocacy. Over the years, he’s used his platform to spark important conversations and encourage support within the community.

Through his comedy, he opens an authentic space for veterans to chat about common issues post-service, like identity after uniform, mental health, and finding purpose on the flip side.

"I get 200 messages every day on social media with lots about mental illness and helping people to feel better, which is a really positive by-product of providing something to the happiness economy."

Beyond his shows, Jarryd also dedicates time to supporting fundraising events like Run Army, as well as businesses like Aussie Veterans Coffee Co and Camoroll. We’re proud to stand behind a veteran who’s making an impact on his community, both on and off the stage.
