How the Electricity, Gas, and Water Rebate Works

The Electricity, Gas, and Water Rebate provides financial assistance to eligible households in the ACT. For the 2025–26 financial year, the annual rebate has increased by $50 to $800. The rebate applies only to the principal place of residence, and the account must be in the cardholder’s name. Only one rebate per household can be claimed.

The rebate is calculated on a daily basis and varies by season:

  • Summer (1 November – 31 May): 101.887 cents per day
  • Winter (1 June – 31 October): 381.699 cents per day

Eligible applicants must be the primary holder of one of the concession cards, including the Veteran Gold Card TPI embossed. To apply, simply contact your energy provider directly.

Additional ACT Concessions Often Overlooked

Beyond the major concessions, several smaller benefits add up to meaningful savings for Gold Card holders in the ACT.
